Josh Atherton came to the Education Foundation in December 2017 after spending nearly 15 years as an executive with the Boy Scouts of America, most recently working for the Denver Area Council as a Field Director. Prior to working with Denver Area Council, Josh worked on behalf of the Boy Scouts serving as a top-level executive in Longmont and Boulder County where he helped increase fundraising and membership for the Scouts.
Prior to his work with the Boy Scouts of America, Josh, a graduate of Skyline High School and a 4th generation Longmont native, attended the University of Northern Colorado, where he achieved a bachelor of arts degree in Sociology-Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology.
Josh currently lives in Longmont with his wife, Anne, who is an Assistant Principal at Longmont High School, and their three children who all attend St. Vrain Valley Schools.
