Clean Commute | Public Policy Special Event - Postponed!
Postponed! This event will be rescheduled after our speakers receive updated information on HB 1138. Reducing vehicle emissions has been a priority in Colorado for several years. In 2021, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), in conjunction with the Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC), proposed a mandatory program to limit single occupancy vehicles while also decreasing vehicle miles traveled to address this priority. The program, known as Employee Trip Reduction Program (ETRP) was tabled due to strong business concerns about the strategies identified and the means to get there.
The same elements are now being introduced through HB22-1138. Businesses throughout the state have concerns with this piece of proposed legislation, as written, as it is very similar to the ETRP program that was previously rejected. Find out more about HB22-1138 and how it will impact your business by attending a special meeting of the Longmont Chamber's Public Policy Committee on February 25 at 8:00 a.m.
Sandra Solin, lobbyist for the Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance (NCLA) will be on hand to discuss the Bill, and to answer questions concerning the near and long-term effects such policy may have on our businesses and economy.
