About Safe Shelter
Our History
Founded in Response to Community Need
Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley was established in response to the growing need for support and resources for individuals impacted by domestic violence and related issues in the community. Recognizing the critical lack of services for survivors, a dedicated group of community members came together to create a safe haven where individuals and families could find refuge and support. In some cases, even opening their homes in lieu of any other options.
Early Years and Expansion of Services
In its early years, Safe Shelter focused on providing emergency shelter and crisis intervention services. As the organization grew, it expanded its offerings to include individual and group counseling, case management, legal advocacy, and community education programs. These services were designed to address not only the immediate safety needs of survivors but also to support their long-term healing and empowerment.
Our Mission
Safe Shelter's mission is to provide safety, support and resources to individuals affected by domestic and gender based violence, abuse in later life, teen dating violence, and human trafficking.
Our Vision
At Safe Shelter, we envision a community free from domestic and gender based violence where everyone will live with safety, dignity, and respect feeling independent and self-assured.
