Arroyo Whiskey (Barrel #2) Release!
Come celebrate the Autumnal Equinox and changing of the seasons with the release of Barrel #2 of our Arroyo Whiskey!
This second batch is the liquid gold of an ongoing collaboration between Dry Land Distillers and the fine folks and brew enchanters at Primitive Beer, a small family-run beer blendery crafting spontaneously fermented wheat beer inspired by Belgian Lambic.
Both Dry Land Distillers and Primitive beer pay homage to the beauty and nuances of local agriculture and use the finest of Colorado grains and ingredients.
This particular barrel of Arroyo Whiskey is made with Colorado malts, including Antero wheat from Marc Arnusch Farms. The beer was barrel-fermented for nearly three years before being distilled and aged for an additional 18 months as a whiskey in a new American oak barrel.
Each batch of Arroyo is generously nuanced and unique. Barrel #2 is gorgeously complex, earthy, and loaded with prominent apricot and toasted grain notes. The whiskey is well balanced with multiple layers of baking spice and a delightfully chalky, clean finish.
Bottles with be released to the public on Saturday, September 21st beginning at 2 p.m. We will be offering a free tasting through the weekend as supply lasts! This is a limited release with high demand. Our last batch sold out in record time, so start your weekend early so as to not miss out!
